Inclusive Allyship
Course Introduction
This workshop will introduce what it means to be an ally and why this is important in workplaces and in fostering cultures of intersectional inclusion. This workshop introduces the difference between being a bystander and an upstander and how we can all take more proactive steps to be an upstander for inclusion.
What will
participants learn?
Participants will develop an understanding of the definition, roles and skills of allyship. They will learn that allyship is a continuum; a lifelong journey of learning, curiosity and respect for the identities and lived experiences of others. Participants will also discuss some real life examples of bystander behaviour and learn how they can make upstander choices ‘in the moment’ by preparing for the moment.
This workshop is open to and relevant to all colleagues, of any seniority, identity or background.
